2CELLOS APPEARING ON GLEE

Wow! Just about 10 minutes ago, Stjepan Hauser and Luka Sulic of 2CELLOS posted a video preview of Glee's upcoming episode. Yes, the King of Pop reigns on an all-new "Glee" to be aired Tuesday, January 31 on Fox. This is following the viral news spreading on the net that 2CELLOS are set to perform on the hit TV series!

2CELLOS is also slated to perform in Manila on January 20, 2012 for a one night show produced by GB Productions Asia with co-presenters Catalyst Revolution Inc., Time, Airgurus, Sony Music Philippines and Ivory Records. These YouTube sensations have been very busy lately!

WHY WOMEN GO FOR SECOND BANANAS

Second bananas... I am referring to married men... my pet name for those who do not like using condoms that's why they are dads too. LOL!

My business partner at Time in Manila, Pav Parotte at his finest modeling career... only for my blog.

My friend, Mond J. Ortiz a.k.a the guy who doesn't want to be a second banana just posted an interesting thought on Facebook and it goes like this.... "There are some women I know who are "third parties" and they are aware of it. And they are in a relationship with a guy who is married with kids and a wife. I am just wondering whats going on in the back of the heads of these "third parties". What motivates them to stay in the relationship? Why can't they just choose a single man instead of being with a married man with a wife and kids? Does their conscience even disturb them? Are they aware that they are actually destroying a family? I just cant seem to comprehend third parties because I would never allow myself to be a second banana."

Pav Parotte... a high target for women looking for second bananas. Disclaimer: Mate... don't kill me if your email gets flooded with proposals from women, okay? ;-)

Many of Mond's friends were also baffled with his post as to why some women go for married men. They gave their insights and opinions... all were very interesting and so, I posted my following opinions based on my past conversations with single and married friends:

Some women do go for married men and they do so for a variety and number of reasons that can go up to 101:

1. Don't Hate The players, Hate the Game.
Some women like this and they perceive of this as a game. Yes, these women enter into relationships with the married men who attracts them to see what he will do to screw up the lives of his wife and children to be with her. It's the same as with a man or woman who dates someone who's already in a relationship. It's a competition to some. Sick, yes... but coming between relationships to some is like a goddamn sport.

Just modeling for this blog... Mr. Marcus (a committed guy) and Pav (a very very committed guy)

2. The Thrill of the Chase.
Some women always want they can't have. It's a thrill for them... an excitement that gives off endorphin or endogenous + morphine. Endorphin can either bring out natural pain or fight stress. I'm saying that maybe some women are wired that way to endure the natural pain of being in a complicated relationship whether it be short term or long term.  For some, it helps them fight stress. Going for a married man becomes a challenge for them. After all, it is harder to gain the attention of someone already committed and in love.

3. Second Bananas are Safe.
A married man for these women seems to be always more agreeable than the disengaged one. These women think that it is all safe with the married men... they can exert all their powers of pleasing without suspicion and that no harm can be done. And since these men are married, they can hardly demand a high level of commitment from women who go for them.

Me and Pav always have this funny moments together at Time. Nothing more than business.
Just to make it clear... I do not have an intimate relationship with this guy.
I have a business affair with him.
4. Going with the Flock.
Some women have a this herd mentality and they want what other women want. Yeah they go for the same cow that others want.

5. Great Ego Booster.
Yes, it's all about self-achievement similar to number 2 because married men are harder to entice thus; doing so is like an ego boost. It's like singing the song from Pussycat Dolls "Don't cha wish you're girlfriend is hot like me".  The fact that these women lured married men, they think they are hotter because men choose to sleep with them.

The incriminating photo that I may be judged as a woman who goes for married men..
6. It is an Earnest Business.
Life can be hard and so the grand plot of blackmailing becomes a business enterprise. Some women go for married men so they can set an entrapment. They target men who are so-called "loyal" to their wives and with perfect timing, gather evidences to trap the men and solicit huge amounts of money in exchange for silence. Ah well... silence is indeed golden.

7. Ain't Saying She's a Gold Digger but She Ain't Messin' with no Broke Nigga.
These women perceive of married men as good providers... in the monetary essence. They want money, jewelries, expensive shoes, bags, cars, etc. and that all of it comes from being a mistress without the wifely obligations.

This photo proves that Pav can not be someone that women (who likes married men) should chase.
He has this bromance with Mr. Marcus.

8. The Right Love at a Wrong Time.
It is inevitable for some women to love and be loved by someone at a wrong time. We are all human beings and love... genuinely sometimes just happen at a wrong time. These women couldn't help it. We can't beg them to stay away if they don't want to leave and be with someone else. This is what love is all about... Sacrifice!

I believe that the number of reasons behind this baffling topic can rise to 101 or more  if we clearly and further dwell on it but then I also believe that we should let these people be.  Seriously. It's their own lives.  To some of us, maybe we are wired to stay single forever, married, in a complicated relationship, etc... and to some, they are just wired to be in a starstruck relationship like Romeo and Juliet. We all exist in this world with various purposes in life and to know what life is, is to really live it on our own.

Ah... my favorite couple... Pav and my sweet friend, Anne!

I cannot truly be judgmental as to why some people go for the married ones.  Life for me is a beautiful waste of time and time is a beautiful waste of life... we should just waste our time and have the time of our lives... that's all that matters.

Thanks to E.B.E. and Vincent Garrucho for the great shots of my friend Pav who willingly agreed to model with me, Mr. Marcus and his wife Anne for this particular blog. Thanks Mond Ortiz for making me write this. Thank you, Pav... you're the best banana for this topic! :-)

SECRET CINEMA AT TIME IN MANILA 11.12.11

November is a month filled with great foreign dj line ups at TIME in Manila. One of them recognized djs in the world is Jeroen Verheij a.k.a Secret Cinema.

Jeroen... a producer, DJ and founder of Gem Records (www.gemrecords.nl) has been for the past 20 years, regarded as one of Netherland's pride, if not...the world's top techno producers and live acts. He has produced throughout these years, some of the biggest techno anthems including Timeless Altitude, Sonar System, Mary Go Wild and two of the popular tunes on Sven Vath's Cocoon Records - Shake your Tech Ass & Kurzweil.

He has headline many of the biggest festivals including closing for the Awakenings Festival... a spot that only Secret Cinema, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer and Dave Clarke have held since its inception.

Jeroen lives and breathes electronic music not to mention, he still holds as much passion and enthusiasm on stage as he did in the early 90's.

After the lengthy success of his solo Secret Cinema project, Jeroen has focused his energy toward a new venture aptly named "Gem" which is a platform consisting of Gem Records (one of the fastest growing global techno labels) and the highly regarded Gem events which has built an absolute cult following over the past several years.

To simply put it, Secret Cinema is one of the brightest shining gems of the global techno scene and will continue to shine for many years to come!

Secret Cinema will be at TIME in Manila on November 12, 2011. Regular cover charge is P500. For table reservations and inquiries, contact May Legaspi at +639275714188 or email  may.legaspi@gmail.com and boomthcacktime@gmail.com

YOUSEF AT TIME IN MANILA 11.18.11

For the last 8 months, Time in Manila, the puny underground club located at 7840 Makati Avenue, Makati City, Philippines, has been making a lot of noise not only for featuring the best underground parties by local talents but also for bringing in the world's best talents in the clubbing industry.  There has never been a month since they opened that the Time Team did not feature the worlds' most recognized.

TIME in Manila... inferior in size, superior in music... is bringing another exciting DJ to Manila to get people in a dancing frenzy. Get ready for Yousef!

Get to know Yousef! (Source: http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?309719)

The new decade sees Yousef consolidating his status as an international DJ, Producer, Club Promoter and Music aficionado with ever greater impact. Running one of Europe’s premier clubnights co-exists alongside manning a record label of the same name, whilst his reputation as a DJ grows with increasing stature and a constantly escalating global calendar.
Image from Yousef's Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/yousefcircus
His productions continue to leave an indelible imprint on the world; the release of second artist album ‘Indigo Child’, the follow-up to 2009’s impressive LP ‘A Collection of scars and situations’, is scheduled for later on in 2011. A hugely expansive collection much like its predecessor, it marks a return to Circus Recordings after Yousef took a twelve month sabbatical to work exclusively with a select band of record labels, including Saved, Cocoon, Harthouse, and Monique Musique.

The return will be kick-started with the release of one 8 track EPs entitled ‘Yousef’s Circus Reworks’. The focus is simple; transformations of several productions with the Circus dancefloor specifically in mind, Jamie T, Fourtet, Giles Peterson, Moby and Sven Vath among the producers contributing material for Yousef to re-jig alongside his own peerless ‘Come Home’. Each track represents a certain time of the night or certain room; painting a personal musical projection of what Circus means to Yousef and an ideological snapshot of the clubnight’s musical DNA.

The event is quite the beast. Now in its ninth year, it’s quickly moved from being the best night in Liverpool to one of the most talked about and well respected soirees on the continent, the flagship for the refurbished and Funktion One equipped Masque. The high profile nature has seen shows with Planet E, Bedrock, Meganite and Teutonic techno institution Cocoon, not to mention a superlative collaboration with the BBC for the 500th Essential Mix.

Image from Yousef's Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/yousefcircus
Loco dice, Pete Tong Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Ricardo Vilalobos, Laurent Garnier, Luciano, Carl Craig, Adam Beyer, John Digweed, Davide Squillace, Raresh, Dennis Ferrer, Heidi, Nic Fanciulli, Tim Green and countless others have all played for Yousef and his party in the last 12 months. Many more are slanted for future shows in 2011 and beyond as it nears an unprecedented ten years of rave carnage.

And Yousef continues to push further ground as a DJ. 2011 will see his second year as one of the residents at Carl Cox presents... at Space, arguably the internationally renowned nightclub’s finest party of the season. A recent tour of South America saw a consolidation of his status as one of the premier foreign DJs for the continent (a debut at Warung Beach a particular highlight), and he remains a huge draw from the sun kissed shores of Melbourne to Miami to the sweat soaked basements of Manchester and Munich.

One thing’s for sure; Yousef will continue to leave a huge personal footprint upon electronic music both behind the scenes and behind the decks of the world’s finest clubs, whilst creating the musical soundtracks that pulsate through their clubber’s ears. He simply knows no other way!

Yousef will be playing at TIME in Manila's main room with Time Residents Alinep, Simon Baff and Pav Parrotte. Roof deck will be rocking with Supreme Fist.

DARREN EMERSON @ TIME IN MANILA 10.14.11

This one is gonna be for the books and I can't wait till I personally meet this talented guy! I better get my best dancing shoes ready as...

TIME, Frequency Manila, Control, 80's Casual, O Bro's brings to Manila... the best of International underground DJ events on Friday, October 14, 2011 at club TIME, Manila.... Detone and Global Underground's DARREN EMERSON!

Made this myself solely for my personal blog. TIME has their official poster.

Who could not possibly know Darren Emerson? One of the most influential figures in the dance music scene, Darren Emerson has a 20 years career that has seen him work with the best from Depeche Mode to Jamie Callum. His success is evident in the numerous million-selling hit albums and singles that he has been part of as well as his stunning DJ Skills.

Darren Emerson at age 18, was invited by Karl Hyde to become the third member of the world famous techno band, UNDERWORLD. The group's 1993 release, Dubnobasswithmyheadman is the third album after the band made the transition from synth pop to progressive house. This album was their commercial breakthrough on the then burgeoning British electronica scene. While working with Darren Emerson on their second album with him, 1996's Second Toughest in the Infants, they released the single, "Born Slippy" which became a massive hit worldwide following its inclusion on the movie Trainspotting soundtrack.

During Darren Emerson's time with Underworld, the band released three albums and sold over a million albums worldwide! Emerson also emerged as a much sought-after remix talent with notable remixes for diverse acts as The Chemical Brothers and Bjork. He parted ways with Underworld in 2000 and since then on concentrated more on his solo career as a DJ and remixer and also, as a label owner.

The stunning DJ continued to release tracks by himself, launching new artists on the Underwater records label and eventually gained its own night at Super club Pacha, Ibiza alongside fellow Dj Erick Morrilo. During the second summer at Pacha, his Underwater Records night won "House Event" of the summer at the Dj Magazine Awards. The first collaboration saw Emerson and Dj cohort Sasha produced the Ibiza classic, "Scorchio". Two Global Underground compilations soon followed... "Uruguay" and "Singapore". In 2003, Underwater was voted label of the year by Dj Mag.

Darren Emerson released his third Global Underground compilation "Bogota" in 2009 and 2010 and he launched a new label, Detone, on which he has so far released the club tracks Gracelands and Decisions.

Currently, he continues his relentless globe-trotting Dj schedule.... including the upcoming stint at club TIME in Manila this October 14, 2011!

THE GRAND LAUNCH OF TIME IN MANILA 09.16.11

Time flies so fast…
It seems like it wasn’t long ago when former club owners Domini Primero and Jay Server were hunting for the best team of partners they can possibly be with then, for the “Underground Club Project.” In reality, it really took them awhile. Many expressed interest in joining. The duo could’ve have just gone for their rich friends and acquaintances but, they took their time.

To qualify as a partner in the club, it has nothing to do with money… it has something to do with a conviction to build a club for people who knows what quality dance music is all about. It was like a job interview for the other partners… they were thoroughly questioned on the belief and faith for the “underground” music policy for the club... owing to the fact that there are not a lot of proper venues for dancing. It took the duo a long time… but the brilliant wait was all worth it.

All our possessions for a moment of Time…
The whole process of tearing down the old building, once the home for historical underground clubs Seven-Eight Orange and Government was easy… but constructing a new one for TIME IN MANILA is like surviving a Russian mafia gun hold-up with Snoop Dog.

People have been wondering… what’s taking it so long. Rumors even spread it was never going to open. Behind the construction of a 3-level club, were partners constantly deliberating, carefully planning for everyone’s new home for a cutting-edge dance club in the Philippines.

This Time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it…
The structure was built, the insides of it polished, staff prepared to take orders… but what to do? March 2011 we softly opened doors of TIME IN MANILA. From little party events to collaborations with great minds of locals believing what the club is all about, to big ones showcasing live dj sets for the best foreign djs… big names such as Rosie Romero (Space), Sonny Wharton (UK), John “00” Fleming, Jojo Flores (Got Soul Montreal), Jazzanova, Soultribe... all were successful but we all had to remain cautious of what we do.  And so we have properly structured all partners’ and event planners’ involvement in the club.  We all thank everyone who have been with us from day one as we struggled for our call to proper dance clubbing experience. Now, everyone together with the management staff works as a team, we are all ready to deliver the best clubbing experience in Manila to those who love to dance.

Time is more valuable than money. Time is the greatest constituent of life…
TIME IN MANILA… A nightclub with rock-star appeal through the vision of experienced entrepreneurs and underground house music affecionados will soon be embarking upon a taste of nightlife that will exceed any other nightclub experience ever imagined in the nation’s capital…. Manila.

Located at 7840 Makati Avenue, Makati City, the club built for an exclusive capacity of only 500 boasts a simple but beautiful ambiance including a main room with less furniture for the sole objective of making more space for dancing, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, second floor VIP area and a cool roofdeck for lounge and eclectic dance music.

It's now TIME...
TIME IN MANILA is now ready for its’ grand launch on September 16, 2011 featuring one of the world’s best DJs, Nick Warren.

TIME IN MANILA opens 5 days in a week and will be the home to the hottest promoters in the Philippines, home to foreign resident DJs, home to featured world-class DJs and celebrity hosts using TIME as their venue, not merely for revelry but for endless appreciation of what real night clubbing life is all about.

It’s TIME for change…
It’s TIME to dance…
It’s TIME.

Appearing live before Manila's dance crowd this March 25, 2011 at TIME 7840 Makati Avenue is Dj Sonny Wharton... organized by Frequency Manila, Driven Manila and Time.

Hereunder are tidbits of info on this exciting Dj to watch out for...

DJ Mag declared, "What makes Sonny stand out from the pack is his combination of talent and determination" and never was a statement more apt! An innovator and workaholic Sonny Wharton has developed, tweaked and honed his 3 deck wizardry with industry leaders Ecler and Ortofon signing him up as a UK Ambassador to showcase just what their technology is capable of in the right pair of hands.

Sonny's major breakthrough came when spotted by Renaissance in their mix-tape competition with DJ Mag. Since then Sonny's racked up slots at the who's who of clubbing institutions; Pacha, Ministry Of Sound, Godskitchen and Space whilst consistently rocking clubs and festivals all over the world; Australia, Brazil, China, France, Mexico, Morocco, Russia, Spain and Korea. Sonny has held down a monthly residency in Barcelona, completed two solo world tours and played to over 1 million people at The Love Parade in Berlin, Germany.

No stranger to radio and TV Sonny's completed 3 prestigious guest mixes for the world famous Radio 1 in addition to countless live interviews and regularly features on the likes of Galaxy, Ministry Of Sound and Kiss. Sonny has also appeared on both The Gadget Show and MTV.

Having honed his talents touring club land Sonny has also committed a lot of time in the studio over the last 18months with his productions and remixes gaining heavyweight support from the likes of Pete Tong, Sander Kleinenberg, Mark Knight, Steve Angello and Roger Sanchez as well as featuring on major Radio, TV and Film.

With Toolroom knighting him "a certified member of the house music elite", the launch of his own label Whartone and releases lined up on Size, Ministry Of Sound, Skint and Positiva, Sonny's place amongst the production community has also fast become one to watch!

JOHN00FLEMING: J00F EDITIONS LIVE AT TIME IN MANILA

Club TIME opens with a big bang as Frequency Manila presents: J00F EDITIONS - John '00' Fleming on February 25, 2011.  Backing up J00F are DJ's: Martin Lugtu (TIME), Ayee Taupa and Alinep (TIME)!

JOOF Editions, the brainchild of John 00 Fleming, has created an event which re-focuses the night on the musical experience to combat what he says is, “his frustration at the current commercialized state of dance music culture.”

“It’s apparent the scene needs to split into two again; to let the current road of commercialism take its co...urse while also allowing for the more specialist events/DJ/acts room to breathe.”

Not being able to sit back and watch the collapse of an industry he is so passionate about John decided to take action.

“J00F Editions is an event which lives to return the musical journey to the people; in events devoid of props, pyrotechnics and faux VIP’s, instead returning to a world where a DJ can musically breathe with extended sets and creative sounds,” he said.

“In what’s become an era of celebrity guest DJ culture, true music, its fans and new talent have been disconnected. J00F Editions lives to reconnect it and to re-ignite what drew clubbers in the very beginning.”

Starting in his hometown of Brighton, UK, J00F Editions will tour world wide with John 00 Fleming himself programming the entire night.

Other destinations so far include: San Francisco (USA), Manila (Philippines), Singapore and Mumbai (India).

J00F Editions will technically recreate the same essence delivered in John’s much lauded recent BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.

J00F Editions will also introduce new talent, handpicked by John, to reinforce the event on the music, the night, and the journey.

These three elements will infuse into every venues setup, to synergistically match with John’s final artistic approval.

If you can remember a time when electronic music wasn’t diluted then J00F Editions is for you. If you have known nothing else but musical predictability then J00F Editions is for you.

Come and be part of a new movement.... A movement that returns the club to the clubbers!
